It was lovely to have so many artists and clients in attendence on Friday, April 18th at the opening of this vibrant and wonderous exhibition! Incorporating explorations of environments: moonlit gardens,19th century interiors and 17th century curio cabinets, this show offers a truly contemporary vision of traditional milieus.Unfolding Worlds continues until May 17th, 2008.
Congratulations to artist Joe Fafard on the National Gallery of Canada's acquisiton of his powerful and graceful laser-cut steel and bronze sculpture, "Running Horses". M. Fafard's work is currently being shown across Canada in his retrospective show "Joe Fafard", organized by the National Gallery, Ottawa and the MacKenzie Art Gallery, Regina.Related Article
Congratulations to artist Jeannie Mah on receiving the Jacqui Schumiatcher Arts Award at the YWCA Women of Distinction Awards on May 1, 2008. This award recognizes Jeannie's acheivments in and contributions to the visual arts since beginning her ceramics practice in 1979.
"Bon Voyage" to artist John Noestheden as he heads to Basel, Switzerland for the installation of the banner created with Inuit artist Shuvinai Ashoonato. Their six- by 43-metre work will be part of the public art project, Stadthimmel or City Sky, appearing above the streets of Basel, Switzerland during Art Basel, Europe's leading art fair, from May 20 to Aug. 17.Related Article
